Why You’ll Love This Recipe
This healthy ube latte is a creamy, naturally sweetened twist on the vibrant purple drink loved in cafés around the world. Made with real ube powder or extract, it’s rich in antioxidants, naturally colorful, and easy to make in just minutes. You can enjoy it hot or iced, with or without coffee, for a cozy morning drink or an afternoon energy boost.
Ingredients
½ cup milk of choice (oat, almond, or dairy for creaminess)
½ cup coconut water or additional milk
2–3 tsp ube powder or 1–2 tsp ube extract (adjust for flavor and color)
1–2 tsp pure maple syrup or raw honey (to taste)
Optional: 1–2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
Optional toppings: cinnamon, nutmeg, or toasted coconut
Instructions
1. Dissolve the ube
In a small saucepan or frother, whisk ube powder or extract with a splash of warm water until smooth.
2. Sweeten
Stir in maple syrup or honey until fully dissolved.
3. Add liquids
Pour in milk and coconut water (or more milk) and heat gently until warm and steamy. Do not boil.
4. Build your latte
Hot: Pour into a mug and enjoy, or add coffee for an energizing boost.
Iced: Fill a glass with ice, add coffee if desired, then pour the ube milk mixture over top.
Espresso-mix method: Brew your espresso shot, stir in the ube powder or extract directly until smooth, then top with hot or steamed milk (with or without coconut water).
5. Finish
Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg, or toasted coconut for extra flavor.
Tips for the Best Ube Latte
Use full-fat milk or oat milk for a richer texture.
The espresso-mix method creates a more intense coffee flavor and blends the ube seamlessly.
Make the ube base ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
